Powered by Wonder Mural
For the third year in a row, local artist Tommy Lincoln (Stay Fresh Design) has donated his time, vision, and energy to create and install a mural at a local nonprofit as part of United Way of CNY’s Day of Caring. This year’s creation, Powered by Wonder, celebrates STEAM education and the important role The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology (The MOST) plays in encouraging youth to explore, invent, experiment, create, and imagine.
Stretching along West Jefferson St., directly behind The MOST (500 S. Franklin St. | Syracuse, NY), the 455′ mural is Syracuse’s longest mural and a stunning addition to the Armory Square neighborhood.
Powered by Volunteers
More than 100 volunteers picked up a paintbrush or roller to help color in the enormous project on The Day of Caring and many days after.
Tommy Lincoln and Stay Fresh staff alone contributed over 400 hours to the project. That’s in addition to local artists who joined the effort for hours/days at a time (complete list coming soon!)
And local businesses helped make the project a reality through their generous donations. Thank you to Purcell’s Paints and Benjamin Moore for contributing over 130-gallons of paint! In addition, Mack Brothers Steel and Skyworks donated lifts to help us reach the high spots (there were a lot of them).
