CNY Cares

Now more than ever, families in our community are struggling to afford both groceries and everyday essentials. Over the last month, requests for food donations in Central New York have increased 94%. At the same time, requests for household and personal care items are also on the rise. When paychecks pause or benefits change, neighbors shouldn’t have to go without life’s essentials.

Through November 30th United Way of Central New York is rallying food, personal care, funds, and volunteers to meet the sharp increase in needs, while keeping every effort local and coordinated through the CNY Cares campaign.

You can contribute to the CNY Cares community effort in three ways:
Thanks to a $10,000 match from KeyBank, every dollar donated will go twice as far to purchase food (in partnership with Food Bank of CNY), hygiene and essential items to supply local pantries and programs in Onondaga County. Click here to donate.

Continue supporting United Way’s Care Package Project, through November 23rd, by donating hygiene, and household essentials at Syracuse area Wegmans or visit CNYCarePackage.com to learn more. In 2024, a record 1,800 care packages were distributed to local nonprofit agencies.

Volunteer to help at local food pantries and meal programs. You can find opportunities on United Way’s volunteer opportunity platform VolunteerCNY.org. Get Involved. Make a Difference.
