Throughout March, a portion of all purchases made with SYR Clothing Co. will benefit United Way of Central New York.

SYR Clothing Co. celebrates Central New York and is lead by the husband and wife team of Matt & Taylor Sourwine — two members of Emerging Leaders United.

Why did they choose United Way of Central New York? Matt explained,”Giving back to Central New York nonprofits is a major part of the Syracuse Clothing Co. mission. We want to make a difference and we know donations are critical in helping sustain many programs and services that are needed by those in our local community. We’ve been a part of Emerging Leaders United (formerly Young Leaders United) for about 5 years now and over the years we’ve learned and continue to learn how much of an impact the United Way of Central New York has on our community. There are so many programs and services that rely on the United Way and we’re happy to help spread that word and help support their mission.”

How did you become involved with Emerging Leaders United?

“Taylor and I got involved with Emerging Leaders United because we wanted to connect with other like-minded individuals in our community. Giving back is important to us since we understand how lucky we are as a family. We want to make a difference in the lives of others and we like that Emerging Leaders United provides us with various volunteer opportunity each month. We also value the educational leadership events we’re able to attend since they’re so uplifting and provides us with networking opportunities.”
