UWCNY announces hiring of new President
Syracuse, NY – After an extensive search, the United Way of CNY is pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy Kern Eaton as its new President, pursuant to a unanimous Board of Directors vote earlier today.
“We are delighted to welcome Nancy to the United Way. She is very well-known throughout Central New York and brings a broad level of experience and passion to the position that will lead us as we continue our vital work in the community”, said UWCNY Board Vice Chair Virginia Biesiada O’Neill, who led a fourteen person search committee comprised of a diverse group of community leaders and stakeholders.
Eaton comes to the United Way with over twenty years’ experience in the local not for profit sector, most recently with ARISE Child & Family Services, where she served in several senior leadership positions for the past seven years. She has significant volunteer experience with the United Way of CNY dating back to 1999, supporting resource development and community impact initiatives. Eaton will begin on July 10th, allowing for an orderly transition from current President Frank Lazarski, who will be retiring at the end of August after a fourteen year career with the United Way. “By investing together in United Way, generous people in this community have been caring for neighbors in need for almost 100 years. I am honored to join an incredible team that has been skillfully led by Frank. I look forward to working with the Board and the community to continue and expand our innovative solutions to make it possible for everyone to thrive”, said Eaton.
