Every three years, human service agencies in Onondaga County have the opportunity to apply for funding from the United Way of Central New York to support quality programs that provide essential services to assist populations in need. The Community Program Fund will provide multi-year support to approved programs for the period July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2017.

Welch Allyn employees spread out across Onondaga and Cayuga counties July 19 to volunteer their time at various nonprofit agencies. The braved 90-degree temperatures and high humidity to landscape, paint and more. More than 500 employees participated as part of the company’s annual Beaconfest/Show of Hands event.
United Way of Central New York’s Community Program Fund provides support to important programs that help disadvantaged populations throughout Onondaga County.
Community Program Fund Application Review Volunteers will carefully review agency fiscal & management reports, as well as program applications. Volunteers will play a critical role in the allocations process by objectively reviewing agencies’ administrative and program capacity and then making recommendations to a board sub-committee and finally, United Way Board of Directors.
The Agency Fiscal & Management Review will take place during August thru October; volunteers are required to attend one training session prior to reviewing applications. Trainings are tentatively scheduled for August 21st (3-5 pm), August 28th (5:15-7:00 pm) and September 4th (5:15-7:00 pm). Program Application Review will take place January thru March of 2014.
