Kim Townsend, President and CEO of Loretto (and UWCNY Board Member) discusses changes in the way we care for our elderly on NewsChannel 9 Newsmakers with Dan Cummings.
Thank you to Testone, Marshall & Discenza, CPA’s for participating in UWCNY’s 16th Annual “Bring on the Books!” book drive to benefit “Success by 6”. In the midst of a busy tax season, employees were excited to donate books as well as raise funds to purchase books through several successful bake sales.
Last year’s Success by 6 “Bring on Books!” drive brought in more than 10,000 books from local businesses. New books collected this year will go to the 2014 Christmas Bureau Distribution as well as child service locations including Head Start. “Success by 6” is a community initiative that works to ensure children in Onondaga County are ready for success in school and in life. http://unitedway-cny.org/success-by-6/
Hopefully we only have a few more weeks to worry about snow removal for this season. Through Volunteerism, UWCNY’S Cathy Roosa is working on a plan for next year to help those who may not be able to remove the snow from their own sidewalks.
