One brave soul volunteered his flowing locks to make sure Crouse-Hinds by Eaton’s campaign was as successful as possible. Hays Lengyel challenged employees to raise $100,000 and he’d shave his head. The campaign raised $105,000, and Eaton is matching 50 percent of the employees’ gifts, making the grand total more than $150,000! Thank you Hays and the employees of Crouse-Hinds by Eaton!
United Way of Central New York has approved 46 local non-profit agencies to submit applications for United Way funding for the 2014-17 cycle. The Board of Directors voted approval at the Oct. 25 board meeting, after months of review by a team of volunteers charged with evaluating each proposal request. In the previous cycle (2011-14) 42 agencies were approved. “With fewer program funding sources available to non-profits compared to the last funding cycle, we have seen an increase in agencies applying for United Way dollars, making this a very competitive process.” said United Way of CNY President Frank Lazarski.
